Why Autumn Is The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Hang on a sec?  Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year?  That's what the song says yeah?  You're all thinking, Emma it's only April, you're a bit early for Christmas!!

Well!  Let me tell you why autumn is the most wonderful time of the year.

Wardrobe.  I prefer the colder seasons to the warmer ones hands down.  You can rug up, get those layers out, pull out the knits, wrap up in your scarves and you are just COSY!!  I'm all about that cosy lifestyle and have no problem staying wrapped up in my dressing gown for as long as possible.

Colour.  Probably my most favourite thing about autumn is the colour.  Foliage changing from greens to oranges, golds, yellows and reds - it is just so beautiful.  I have a dogwood tree outside of my bedroom and currently it's leaves are this gorgeous red/orange colour and I have way too many photos of it on my phone haha!

Birthday season.  Yeah I'm biased because my birthday falls within autumn hahah

Food.  Who doesn't like food?  Autumn is the time where those hearty winter meals are making an appearance again and that just makes me happy.  My mum makes some delicious soups and meals that make you all warm and cosy inside!

Holidays.  Now if you live on the other side of the world, some of you will call autumn fall and you also get to celebrate some fun holidays!  Halloween, Thanksgiving and that pretty much leads up to Christmas so winning.

Candles.  I have a weakness for candles.  I've got a few around my room and ah those scents in autumn, it's just bliss.  Especially when

An excuse to drink more tea.  I am a recent lover of tea.  I think my taste palette has improved since I was younger.  I am loving English Breakfast from Twinnings currently and can't get enough of it.  I used to drink coffee and hot chocolate quite often but now all I want is a warm cup of tea.

Pure cosy-ness.  Autumn is the perfect month for creating the most cosy spaces.  Throws, pillows and cushions, decorations, candles, lighting - this is a recipe for the most cosy space.  I can snuggle up under a blanker with a pillow, read a book and sip from my tea and I am happy!

Autumn is just one of the prettiest seasons out there.  I am obsessed with it.

Are you a fan of autumn too?  Have I converted you over to the autumnal side? ;)

Today's post was going to be very different.  I've been preparing a minimal ingredient lunch and it's delicious if I do say so myself.  Except I've already kind of written about that recipe on my blog before.  Back in 2015, I published a post called Easy 4 Ingredient Lunch!!  Included couscous, mushrooms, tomatoes and a boiled egg.  Really simple, really yummy and I've been having that again for lunch.  So my new version of this lunch was going to go up today however I didn't know if it would seem like I'm repeating myself again.  There are a few new ingredients and it's still as yummy as ever!  If you want to see a post on that lunch, please let me know!!

Until next time, keep smiling :)  Em xx

April Top Five

Another month is nearing an end....  This year is really going through!

And with the ending of the month means it's time for my Top Five!  I've really enjoyed these posts and am really excited to share with you what I've been loving in April!

English Breakfast Tea.  I have always loved chocolates and didn't start having coffee until I was at university.  And I didn't start drinking tea until the end of March and I am wondering why I never had this stuff sooner!  Particularly Twinings Engligh Breakfast Tea!  My parents drink another normal tea type but I can't seem to like it!  This tea on the other hand I am loving!  I have it in the morning with breakfast and ahhhhh can't get enough of it!  Normally I'd have to put sugar in to sweeten tea drinks up but with this I don't have to add anything extra!  Here's to drinking more tea in the future!

Sussan Dressing Gown.  For years and I mean years I've had the same dressing gown.  It was an old faithful of mine and served me well through many a winters but was at that point where it was definitely at the end of its life!  I didn't realise how picky I was when it came to finding a new one...  I know what I want with a dressing gown hahahah but I found this one in Sussan and I am obsessed.  There were four colours to choose from and I picked the Crystal one which is this cool minty colour.  It's also the warmest thing to wear.  I am going to be all set when it really gets cold!!

Nude by Nature Eyeshadow in 12 Quartz.  Say whaaaaaat???  A makeup product in my top five?!?!??!  I have included a foundation in a previous Top Five but look at me go with makeup hahah one afternoon before a music rehearsal, I was getting ready and after foundation was on I saw the little eyeshadow and was like "eh lets pop some on!" and was very happy with how it looked.  I wore it as a very gently and subtle (COLOUR) shade but could have built it up easily.  And for me being a novice with makeup, you couldn't really mess it up.  The packaging is also cuteeeee!

TRESemmé Colour Revitalise Shampoo and Conditioner.  I have an interesting relationship with shampoo.  I'd use hair products in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide and I'd come back home to Tasmania and it would just not agree with my hair.  I'm blaming it on Tasmanian water!  However, when I was in Adelaide, my bestie Alannah and I were talking about hair things and she said she used TRESemmé and I hadn't tried them in years so gave them a try and I love them!  My hair is also loving them so I can't complain!

Eat Smart.  I've had this glorious book for a few months but never shared anything about it as I'd also gotten it for a friend and hadn't been able to gift it to her yet!  But now I can talk about it!  I am a big fan of Niomi and have been reading her blog and watching her videos since she's been uploading!  She is one of my favourite YouTubers and was so excited when she announced she was doing a cookbook.  While I don't follow the same food choices as her I'm still interested in a plant based diet and it's something I'm looking into more and more.  There are some incredible recipes inside and I can't wait to try them all out!

Have you discovered anything new in April?

Until next time, keep smiling :)  Em xx

8 Thoughts For A Cold Morning

I love the morning, but I can't say that I'm much of a waking up person.

Mornings can be so beautiful and blissful but when it's cold and you were having a nice dream and you have to wake up, mornings can just put you into that squinty/glaring face for a few hours.

No.  Simply no.  I woke up the other day and it's starting to get dark in the morning and there wasn't any sun coming into my bedroom and I just lay there and said no.

Why does my alarm just sound so horrible?  I've currently got Justin Timberlake Can't Stop The Feeling as my alarm tone and while I love the tune while I'm awake, having it as my alarm tone something about it just irks me.  And this happens with whatever I use as my alarm tone.  I'm just not a waking up person hahaha

Something about being too tired.  Granted I could have gone to sleep earlier but I didn't and I'm tired.  Although I'm still tired when I go to bed at a reasonable hour so I can't win!!!

IT IS COLD.  Autumn is here and it's cold and soon it'll be winter and it'll be even colder and that makes waking up so much harder.  Getting out of bed and the temperature difference isn't something I like really can I just stay in bed longer?  Granted if I wake up and it is snowing, I will be out of bed SO FAST

Why are my eyes hurting?  I was tempted to put spoons under and over my eyes this morning purely because I was fed up!  I don't know whether to google this or not because you know how it can turn out when you google things like this.....

Why is water tasting weird?  Is this just me?  I just can't drink water first thing.  Give me something to eat and a cuppa and then I'll happily drink water.  Another thing I'm not going to google hahahah

When it it bed time again?  Because we have to ask the important questions in life.

Ooooooh new YouTube videos to watch!  Other than food and it being a brand new day, I love opening up YouTube and seeing what videos have been uploaded!  When I'm having breakfast on my own I love to watch a few and try to save some for later hahah

I wish I was that person who is able to jump out of bed and get on with their day right from the get go but I don't think that will be happening for a while haha well atleast until the warmer months roll back around!

Does anyone have the same sort of thoughts as me?

Until next time, keep smiling :)  Em xx

3rd Blogoversary!!! Happy Birthday emmadaisy

All of the party related emojis!

Because.......  It's my little blogs 3rd Birthday/Blogoversary!

I had a comment just a few days ago congratulating me on reaching 3 years of blogging and I sat there going "oh my goodness, I've been doing this for 3 years" and it was just a little wow moment.  And a moment for me patting myself on the back because I'm truly proud of myself.

So I started my blog on the 21st of April 2014 and I remember it so well.  My first post So this is a hello I remember writing it up, pressing publish and just sitting there going, this is my first blog post.

I also remember I was meant to be studying but hey we can't always be a perfect student ;)

So 3 years of blogging.  It's been interesting and not all smooth sailing.  I never started this blog to become "famous" in the online world, far from it.  I love that I have my own little space internet.  And now looking at my previous posts on my blogs birthday (here & here) I feel like I'm repeating myself ahhaha

Blogging has been an incredible experience and I'll continue blogging for as long as I can.  I've "met" some amazing people through blogging.  People who inspire me, make me laugh, people who give provide me with new perspectives on topics and people who are just simply awesome!

I found something a while ago which I have been saving to share today...  When I seriously started thinking about creating a blog, I had a little bit of a brainstorm to generally come up with ideas.  And once my blog was up and running, that page of brainstorming disappeared and here we are now in 2017!  I recently found the page of brainstorming and had a bit of a moment when I was looking at it.

I remember as clear as day writing everything down.  Ah name ideas for this blog.  There were a few name changes over the year hahaha  I remember I thought I was really cool with my web address however someone else had edoublema as their blog name.  I was going to be called An Abundance Of Emma and then found out the legend John Green had a novel called An Abundance Of Katherines so had to think of another name!  I kept coming back to emmadaisy and while the web address for emmadaisy was taken (sigh) all my other social media handles were emmadaisy related so I stayed with emmadaisy.

And I love it.

It's so interesting to see what I was going to blog about.  Beauty and fashion with a lol next to it.....  I have spoken about a few beauty things but haven't really dipped into the fashion side of blogging.  Probably because my wardrobe is a rotating system of what I love and feel comfortable wearing hahahah maybe in the future, if it's something you'd like to see let me know!

While I'm not one to get into the appearance side of blogs, I'll read a post either way - not about to judge on looks - I have loved evolving how my blog has looked.  From using the classic blogger templates at the beginning and then somehow managing to install and tweak two templates to suit me, I'm pretty happy!  My current template is from Kotryna Bass Designs and I am obsessed with it.  For a person who isn't all that fancy with tech on the internet, I was able to install this with no problems and I love how it looks!  Also do love my little header I made on Canva, think it's really sweet!

I have thoroughly enjoyed blogging.  Whether you have been reading my blog for a little or long time, thank you.  I hope I get to keep producing content on emmadaisy for many years to come.

Again, thank you!  :)

Until next time, keep smiling :)  Em xx
